ABSTRACT
The relevance of the research topic is due to the increase in the role of self-organization of student learning in online learning and a number of special challenges. The article covers issues of peculiarities and challenges that arise during students’ online education, in particular, when studying the academic discipline “Advanced Mathematics” for students of economic specialties in higher education institutions during quarantine restrictions. Attention is focused on online education as a self-sufficient form of education, different from the distance education format. The importance of self-organization of students’ learning during online learning and the role of the teacher in this process are highlighted. In particular, typical examples of students’ independent work methods in the context of self-organization of online learning are provided, the related challenges in the practical activities of teachers and students are classified. The specifics of work in classes in Advanced Mathematics are described in terms of the correct and concise explanation of examples of “step-by-step” solving of practical problems. It is also emphasized the importance of time planning in order to use it productively during students’ independent work with assigned tasks. The article outlines the authors’ own proposals regarding possible ways to improve the organization of students’ independent work during online learning, the possibilities of using related pedagogical techniques and information technologies.
