Description
Young people around the world are entering adulthood at a time characterised by profound social, economic, political and technological changes. While every generation has faced its own challenges, today’s adolescents and young people must navigate an increasingly complex environment affected by armed conflicts, forced migration, gaps in education, rapid digitalisation, changes in labour markets, climate unpredictability and the evolution of social identities. These interconnected challenges have significant implications for mental health and psychological distress, which makes the development of effective support systems a key priority for scholars and educators.
This thematic issue has been prepared in response to these critical realities. It contains interdisciplinary articles that explore the psychological, educational and social aspects of young people’s adaptation to changing conditions. Although the studies presented originate from different geographical and cultural contexts, they are united by a common goal: to identify evidence-based approaches that build resilience, promote psychological wellbeing and help young people achieve positive personal, educational and social development despite unfavourable circumstances.
