The Youth Voice Journal (YVJ™) is the leading international peer-reviewed journal publishing theoretical contributions and empirical studies on issues affecting young people and youth work. The YVJ™ is published by RJ4All Publications, ranked and indexed by Scopus, The European Reference Index for the Humanities and the Social Sciences (ERIH PLUS) and the British Library. The Youth Voice Journal (YVJ) is published online with one volume per year. Each volume includes 5 issues and each issue a minimum of 7 research papers.
YVJ™ aims include:
- Create knowledge and contribute to the literature by publishing high quality research on issues affecting young people
- Establish and further develop the youth-led method for research and social policy
- Provide a platform for the intellectual exchange of ideas around the globe with the aim of influencing policies and practices
- Actively encourage and aide those young people whose voice is rarely heard by policy makers and academia to be published.
The Journal publishes scholarly papers of the highest standard including: research papers, case studies, book reviews conference papers and proceedings. It has an international and multidisciplinary scope and is particularly interested in work that impacts on social policy and the law.
The journal publishes five times per year, including two special issues and three regular issues (one Volumes and 5 Issues).
The Youth Voice Journal (YVJ™) was founded in 2010 by Dr. Theo Gavrielides and is published by RJ4All Publications, an independent, small publisher specialising in social and political sciences. Its Editorial Board, Editor in Chief and Secretariat are all volunteers.
All submissions are first reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief, and if judged suitable for this publication, they are then blind-reviewed anonymously and separately by at least two external, expert reviewers.
The Journal is unfunded and accessed by subscription or by purchasing its papers and issues from our e-bookstore. We are not interested in making any kind of profit. We exist to advance public and academic knowledge, and encourage critical thinking and the scrutiny of practices and policies that impact on youth. The YVJ™ is also available online via EBSCO, ProQuest, Kindle store, and Google Play Books. Institutional and individual subscriptions are available and kindly requested in order to keep the non-profit nature of the publication. The journal is available online only.
Submissions to the YVJ must follow the Editorial Guidelines, and can be made by email to yvj@rj4allpublications.com at any given time. We aim to complete the review process within 4-6 weeks of receipt. It is fully committed to ethical publication practice, and we follow the COPE Publishing standards. We have a strict Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement, and are guided by the values of academic rigour, transparency, equality, and human rights. The YVJ™ adheres to the Code of Conduct for Journal Editors.
