ABSTRACT
The purpose of the article is to identify the problems faced by Chinese young people in learning the Ukrainian language, taking into account the
peculiarities of the adaptation of foreign students to study in Ukrainian universities.
To achieve the goal, theoretical and empirical research methods were used: analysis of theoretical sources, collection, and systematization of statistical data. The article focuses on the personal issues of teaching the Ukrainian language to students from other countries, as well as the problems that foreign students face when studying in higher education institutions in Ukraine.
Modern methods of teaching the Ukrainian language to foreign students are considered using the example of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The authors give examples of improved educational programs that are used for a communicative approach to educational processes. The experience of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language in the conditions of distance learning is analyzed. An analysis of the effectiveness of various approaches and methods in teaching such students the Ukrainian language is given. It is emphasized the need to implement and use various modern methods for organizing classes in order to improve the methodology of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language in order to increase the motivation of foreign students to develop the skills of conversational practice.
