Abstract
Purpose: Determining the degree of influence of the development of metacognitive processes of students on the development of their creative potential.
Design: Methods – comparative; surveying, testing, observation, conversation, analysis; quantitative and qualitative analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, Student’s t-test, Fisher’s test; Shostrom’s test, Leary’s diagnostics, Torrance’s tests, Johnson’s method.
Findings: 58 second-year students took part in the experiment: control group – 30 respondents; experimental group – 28 respondents. In accordance with the research objectives, a program was developed and implemented to form conditions for the effective realization of the creative potential of future teachers through the prism of metacognitive factors. As a result, significant positive changes were found in the experimental group compared to the control group. The development of creative potential requires students to be able to effectively combine metacognitive strategies, which is a guarantee of successful and creative educational process for future teachers of vocational education.
Originality/Value: The results of the study showed that the realization of students’ creative potential through the prism of metacognitive processes is determined by a system of factors, which includes blocks: creative abilities; motivational; self-concept; creative skills; interpersonal relations; features of the educational process of higher education institutions. Creating conditions for the effective realization of the creative potential of future teachers of vocational education involves the implementation of a comprehensive program that covers all components of education, which is a guarantee of self-improvement, self-development, and self-realization.
