Description

The study of the relationship between stress and the mental health of Chinese secondary school students was grounded in the growing academic workload, heightened expectations from both families and schools, as well as the changing social environment influencing adolescents’ emotional states. Identifying the mechanisms through which stress affects mental well-being allows for the clarification of risk factors and protective resources specific to the Chinese educational context and for the formulation of recommendations for teachers, psychologists, and school administrators. An analysis of existing empirical data and original findings demonstrated the necessity of a systematic exploration of this phenomenon in order to ensure timely detection of emotional tension, prevention of disorders, and the development of student support programmes.
