Description

The issue of socio-sexual education for students and youth with complex developmental disorders has gained increasing relevance due to growing societal awareness of the importance of basic safety skills, respect for personal boundaries, and development of communication abilities. In this study, “socio-sexual education” does not refer narrowly to biological or medical sex education, but rather to the comprehensive development of social, communicative, and behavioural competencies related to the body, personal boundaries, and interaction with others. In this context, communication becomes not only a tool for social integration but also a key means of expressing personal needs, asserting boundaries, and ensuring full participation in community life. Its absence or insufficient development significantly increases the vulnerability of children and youth with disabilities, limits access to knowledge about the body, relationships, and social roles, and complicates the development of the ability to resist harmful influences.
