Abstract
Purpose: Aim of research – identify the features of sexual attitudes and sexual scenarios that contribute to the sexual and subjective well-being of people with disabilities as factors of their social and psychological adaptation process.
Methodology: The article presents the results of a study of the metacognitivisation of sexual behaviour and sexual scenarios of young people with disabilities, which was conducted through a psychological survey and subsequent identification of predictors of meaningfulness of life and adaptation using regression analysis. The psychodiagnostic test developed earlier by the authors was used.
Findings: It has been established that the result of metacognitivization of behavioural scenarios of young people with disabilities is the use of Passionate, Romantic and Instrumental sexual scenarios. The regression analysis showed that the use of Pronatal, Self-realization and Transcendental scenarios are negative predictors of meaningfulness of life. The use of Possessive scenario, Patriarchal scenario, Self-realization scenario and Game scenario leads to a decrease in the level of adaptation of young people with acquired disabilities.
Research Limitations: The results of the study of social behavior and sexual scenarios of young people could be influenced by the stress factors of quarantine restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Russian military aggression against Ukraine.
Originality: The identification of predictors of meaningfulness of life, adaptation and maladaptation through the lens of sexual scripts and attitudes of young people with disabilities has not been conducted so far.
