The article is devoted to the problem of the special status of the media and the professional information and communication environment in the system of social institutions that have an impact on the social activity of young university teachers. This text identifies and substantiates the factors of formative influence of media and professional information as well as communication environment which ensure social preservation of the young university lecturer, due to influencing on those structural components of his personal activity, which, without imposing any restrictions on the lecturer’s right to receive information, promote his professional growth and creative realization. It has been proved that the formative influence of media and professional information and communication environment on the social activity of a young university lecturer is determined by the following specific features: globalization of information, mobility of its translation, relevance, appropriate modeling, artistic expression, emotionality, illusion of personal orientation, prompt feedback, etc.
The article defines the integration system of principles of formative action in the media as well as professional information and communication environment, which includes the following positions: compliance with the scientific basis of formation and development of personality, value orientation, comprehensive approach, adequacy, social proof, social preservation. Ways to resolve the contradiction between the social needs of a socially active young university lecturer and the most powerful opportunities for the formative influence of the media and professional information and communication environment in the modern world, are proposed.
